Wow did summer go by fast! We’re starting the fall season with a gig at the Badger Bowl on Friday, September 6th. This is a combo gig with Hunting Charo, and is the first official weekend of “Bar Season”. We hope you can all join us, as it’s been a while since we did a combo gig with Hunting Charo.
The following weekend, we are playing for a special event – the One Tough Cookie Mud Run in East Troy. This mud run is put on for the girl scouts, where all proceeds go to them. It is only open to women runners, ages 14 and up. We would love to see you support these girls! Wicked Lily is playing in the morning (yes, we DO rock in the morning… given enough coffee that is!) and the Dots will be playing afterwards. The Dots are another local all-female band based in Lake Geneva. After we are done playing, Wicked Lily is actually going to run the course. Any female runner friends out there – feel free to join us, it should be a muddy blast! http://www.onetoughcookierun.org/
Be sure to check out our schedule page for a list of dates, or send us a message to be added to our contact list. We hope everyone had a great summer, and hope to see you out and about!
Winter is finally starting to release it’s hold on us. We are currently in what Andy from Hunting Charo calls… “Sprinter”. You know, that time between winter and spring, where according to the calendar it should be warming up, but the temperature isn’t quite cooperating.
We’ve been spending the winter learning a bunch of new tunes, and will be bringing out the first bunch on Saturday, May 11th at Village Lanes in Monona. This show is for a friend of ours’ 40th birthday, but it’s also open to the public. We’re doing a combo show with Hunting Charo, so Wicked Lily we be starting at 9:00, and Hunting Charo will be closing the night around 11:15.
Come on out and partay with us!!!

For us to learn some new tunes!!!
If any of you reading this have some suggestions, feel free to post a comment. We will take any and all suggestions to heart! A couple of the girls have a new hard and heavy tune they want to learn, so be on the lookout for it. I’m not going to spill the beans yet… but if we can pull it off, you won’t forget it!
Our next show is coming up in October – the details are still being ironed out, but we will be playing the Women Rock the Cure event for the Susan G. Komen Foundation again. We are so honored to be a part of this fundraiser, and appreciate being able to help in our own unique way! The event will most likely be held at the Badger Bowl, and there may be a semi-national act involved… IF everything pans out. If not, we’ll still have a rocking great evening. As I said before – we’re still working out the details. Once we know more… you’ll know more!
The weather is starting to cool off, the nights are getting longer, and we need to book some more gigs! If you have any suggestions of venues to book at, please let us know. We’re always on the lookout for different places to play, so any suggestions are welcome! Thanks for it!
Well, the end of summer is here. I can’t say that I’m all that happy about it, but it’s been a great summer! August has been a busy month for us, playing a total of four gigs in all. Each one of them has been special, and a blast to play.
This weekend, we are playing outdoors at Sunset Bar and Grill in Fort Atkinson. They have a great Tiki bar on the shores of Lake Koshkonong, and are making an event of the weekend. There will be bands playing all weekend long, and there are also boat poker run events going on. It would be a great road cruise on your bikes… for those of our bike-riding friends!
We are going to be playing on Saturday night from 6:00 – 10:00. I’m hoping that all of our Fort Atkinson friends come out to help us celebrate the end of summer!
Last weekend was a blast! The Highwood Clubhouse community was a lot of fun. I can still picture all of the “Umbrella Dancers”, and thanks for making Tammy join in! We also loved that you wanted us to play some extra tunes. That extra jam was one of the high points of the summer. We hope to see some of you at Sunset again, and think of us for next year! We also had a good time playing for the DCDSA. Thanks again for letting us play for your picnic, and thank you for all you do in your jobs!
After this weekend, we have about a month off. We’re going to be using this time to learn a few new tunes, and get ready for the fall season.
It’s a party on Lake Koshkonong! Come on out to the Highwood Clubhouse and help us celebrate their annual party. This year’s theme is jungle/safari, so we’re going to be putting on our animal prints.
This party is open to the public, and includes a pig roast. The Highwood Clubhouse is located at 80 Forest Avenue, Edgerton, WI. Here’s a link to the map: http://goo.gl/maps/u1XWD If you’re coming from Madison, it may be a little shorter if you take the Newville exit, go straight onto N Groede Road, take the first right onto Jason Drive, then a left onto N Hillside Road. Follow Hillside to Highwood Road, and take that to S Koshkonong Drive, to Forest Avenue. (OK, so use your GPS, it’s probably easier!)
On Sunday, we are playing a private picnic for the DCDSA – if you know what this stands for, then make sure to come out to the picnic! We appreciate everything these guys (and gals) do for us, and are honored to be playing for you!
Next weekend we are back on Lake Koshkonong, playing at Sunset Tavern in Fort Atkinson. It’s Labor Day weekend, so let’s end the summer with a bang!
It’s officially here… Crawfish Junction’s Gatorfest!!!
We’ve been looking forward to this gig all summer! It’s an all day outdoor festival, with proceeds going to the Southeastern Regional Breast Care Fund. There are bands playing all day long, starting with Nate Moralez at 12:00, Pat McCurdy at 2:00, Wicked Lily at 5:00, and Heartbreaker at 8:00.
There will be silent auctions, food, and much more. For details, check out the event’s webpage at: www.crawfishjunctiononline.com.
We hope to see all of you out there, having a great time and supporting a good cause! We even have a special song planned specifically for this event, with a guest artist to sing it.
A great big thanks to Andy and Karl for filling in for Julie at the Badger Bowl. You guys both did awesome, and we appreciate all of the time and effort it took each of you to learn 16+ tunes. You guys are awesome!
Our next show is on Saturday, August 18th, for Gatorfest at Crawfish Junction in Milford! This is an all day event where proceeds go to the Southeastern Regional Breast Care Fund. You get 12 hours of entertainment for only $5! Lineup consists of: Nate Moralez @ 12:00 pm; Pat McCurdy at 2:00 pm; Wicked Lily at 5:00 pm; and Heartbreaker at 8:00 pm.
Check out the website for more information: crawfishjunctiononline.com. We are totally looking forward to this gig – anything we can do to help raise awareness and support for breast cancer is something we are honored to do. There will also be a special song during our set, which you won’t want to miss!
It’s summertime, hot… dry… but who cares! It’s not -20 and snowing! We’re ready for some summer fun, and that means gigs!
Our next show is this coming Friday, August 3rd at the Badger Bowl. There’s no cover charge for this show, and it’s in the air conditioning! So come on out and take a breather from the heat.
Unfortunately, Julie, our bass player, had another engagement and couldn’t make this show. She gave us the blessing to go ahead with it, so for this show we will have a couple of male “imposters” filling in for her. A great big thanks to Karl and Andy for working feverishly on their songs, and for helping us make this gig work!!! Now if we can only convince them to wear a skirt… JK!
This is a combination show with Hunting Charo, since we have fun playing gigs with them. (Considering three of us are in the band, it’s pretty easy to do this!) We hope to see all of you out this Friday.
Next show is on Saturday, August 18th, at Crawfish Junction. This is an all-day event for a cancer fundraiser, and is called Gatorfest. We play at 5:00, and our good friends Heartbreaker will be finishing off the evening. It’s going to be a great show for a great cause!
